Constructing your pond with liner is smarter than using a preformed pond.
Liner is more durable and easier to keep algae free.
You want thick liner. Ours is 45 mil !

5 ft
10 ft
15 ft
20 ft
25 ft

What size liner do you need?
Once you have your pond size determined, you can figure out the liner size.
Use the longest, widest points of your size to calculate.
Use the following formula:

Length + (2 x the depth) + (2 x 1 ft overlay)=length needed
Width + (2 x the depth) + (2x1 ft overlay)=width needed

For example: a pond 10' x 6' x 3'
10+(2x3)=16+2=18 ft liner length
6+(2x3)=12+2=14 ft liner width
You will need a piece of liner 18x14.

Algae is easier to control than you think!

UV Clarifiers will keep your pond algae free year round!
Remember to change your UV bulb every 6-12 months
and don't touch it with your fingers because the oils
from our hands can actually damage the bulb.

Phosphate is the nutrient that algae thrives upon.
Feeding your fish less often, partial water changes, and
having plants in your pond will help reduce phosphate.
There are phosphate absorbing filter media and anti-phosphate chemicals available.

There are all-natural ways of dealing with algae
such as barley bales, barley pellets, and liquid barley extract.

Algae eating fish, such as the Plecostomus, can live in
outdoor ponds during the warmer season, but must be
taken out and brought inside when outdoor temps go below 72 degrees.
